A prybar and some sort of short saw would be handy if you have to get your family or someone elses out if the house comes down on you or them. I've heard that cheap work gloves are very handy to have when cleaning up debris, reduces cuts. You could always throw a couple of hard hats in with your supplies. It may sound crazy but a couple of times when my wife called me at work to tell me she was taking shelter with the kids in a closet I told her to put helmets on them. They've developed a number of techniques for improving the survivalability of closets and other small rooms. I'm sure there are some videos on it but they shoot studs through cinder block walls. Texas Tech has a huge air cannon they use to test standard building materials to see how it stands up to common tornado projectiles.
